FAQs and Patient Resources
Our office hours vary but we are typically open from 9AM – 4PM daily (excluding holidays and weekends).
Please see the “Booking guidelines” for each practitioner under the “Our Team” page.
Please note that there is a cancellation policy of at least 24 h notice prior to your appointment and no shows will be billed. To cancel your appointment, please call the office at 902-406-1500 or send a message through our Pomelo portal.
Last minute appointments are not usually possible for Dr. Patriquin, and emergency care is NOT provided. Please visit the ER for any emergent care needs. We do not keep a cancellation list, however you can check Pomelo or with your individual provider to see if any spots have opened up.
Dr. Patriquin is not accepting new patients into her family practice, but is open to group and individual therapy referrals.
Prescriptions are ONLY renewed with a booked appointment (with either Dr. Patriquin or our NP Aisha Yaffa). Your pharmacy can also refill most medications if you have run out. Please book appointments for medication refills 1-2 weeks in advance of your prescription running out. Please do not call the office requesting a prescription renewal.
Please ensure all information is up to date prior to your visit. This includes: phone numbers(s), email address, home address, pharmacy, and health card expiry date. You can update this information with admin through Pomelo, over the phone, or in person prior to your appointment. Any requisitions, letters, forms, etc. discussed during your appointment will be sent to you through our Pomelo portal. Please allow up to 48h after your appointment for these materials to be sent. If a follow-up visit is necessary, please book one with admin or through Pomelo following your appointment.
Please note that all bloodwork, referrals, test results, prescription refills and forms require a booked appointment. You are responsible to book this follow up appointment. The pharmacy can renew medications should you be running out. Please anticipate at least a 2 week wait for an appointment.
Nova Scotians over the age of 16 with a valid Nova Scotia health card now have access to information from their online health records through YourHealthNS.
Typically, lab test results will be available 7 days after they are completed, and diagnostic imaging results will be available 14 days after they are completed. It is important to know that test results that show as outside of the normal range are not always concerning.
Please be assured that if there are any concerns, you will be contacted by your provider. Patients do not have to review their results within YourHealthNS, and if they feel it may cause them concern, they can book an appointment to review them with their provider by phone or in person.
If you have a valid N.S. health card and the service is covered under MSI (i.e., visits with Dr. Patriquin and our NP Aisha), you do not need to pay. All other services require a fee, though they may be covered under your particular insurance plan.
With the patient’s permission, the clinicians can work together to help achieve diagnosis, treatment and ongoing wellness.
